Cabin door installation looks like a separate work package from the landing door. In fact the door coupler (lock fork) joins the two. If the sill is not parallel to the car floor, the track binds, bearings die early and the light curtain trips constantly. The ECHO Cabin Door Installation Guide sets out these alignments and gaps. Preparation before install
Sill and panels
The sill is the line where the car floor and the landing sill will meet in the same plane. A level error means trip hazards and wheelchairs or stretchers catching. Panels must run in the guide rail without rubbing; “tighter is stronger” only loads the motor. Gaps are in the guide table; they are not left to the eye.
Door coupler, lock and safety edge
The coupler must pick up the lock counterpart at the same point on every landing. If it holds on one floor and misses on another, the fault is shaft plumb or coupler set-up, not the door leaf. Test the light curtain or safety edge on closing and, where fitted, on opening; do not stick a label on the tape and call it done. A loose lock microswitch leaves movement permission in the wrong state.
