A 2-panel central landing door is a landing door whose two leaves open from the center, one to the right and one to the left. It is the type you see most on housing and mid-size commercial elevators, because the face is symmetric and the clear opening splits into two equal panels. The ECHO product “2-Panel Central Landing Door” is for this geometry. On a tight side wall, look at 2-panel telescopic instead.
When is this door the right choice?
When should it not be specified?
If one side wall sits too close to the elevator door, the panels cannot open. A 2-panel telescopic then stacks the leaves to one side. For a wider clear opening (stretcher, goods, hotel service) you need 3-panel telescopic or 4- / 6-panel central. “2-panel central on everything” means cutting the shaft wall or reducing the opening.
Sizes that must be on the order
